After one of the most contentious Democratic Primaries, John Edwards has dropped
out of the race. I didn’t expect Obama to win by such a margin
in South Carolina, but Edwards losing
in his home state seems to have sealed his fate.
Now, with Obama and Hillary so close, Edwards’ endorsement
may be the clincher for the nomination.
Edwards seemed to side with Obama until the last debate, when he
distanced himself from both candidates in hopes of winning at least one
state. My guess is that, if he has waited
this long to drop out, he’s planning to wait a bit longer to see who wins on
Super Tuesday in hopes of another shot at the VP spot.
Please John, don’t wait another week to endorse Barack! Obama wants to wipe out poverty just as much
as you do. I am sure that Barack has
many stories to share with you about impoverished neighborhoods on the south
side of Chicago. So, if it takes the two of you sitting down
over a cup of coffee, then give Barack a call.
Barack is also the one who will sit down with leaders in the
Middle East and bring stability to Iraq. Hillary might want out of Iraq, but if she's not willing to talk with Iran or Syria, then her plan of withdrawal will be anything but stable. Barack's ability to bring stability means a peaceful way out, and exiting Iraq
means more money to help with poverty in the US
and abroad.
