Obama-Kucinich

January 6, 2008 13:07 by matthewcain

With Edwards coming to Obama’s support against Hillary, is he making a second attempt at becoming the Vice President?  He claims to share Obama’s interest in change, something which Hillary’s “experience” belies.  His warmth and Southern accent may also complement our man from Chicago’s somewhat heady approach.  The close race in 2004 was a nice résumé for the position, but he’s still in the camp of those senators who approved the Iraq War.  While he has been honest and contrite about that vote, it’s still a decision that continues to affect us all.

Personally, I’m looking for an Obama-Kucinich ticket.  Change?  Heck yeah.  Kucinich is arguably more anti-war than Obama.  Their combined push for energy independence and clean energy would not only combat global warming; it would help us rethink this “war on terror”.

Will Obama make ABC regret their decision to exclude Kucinich from the latest debate?

I don't know what I think about an Obama-Kucinich ticket. There are definately things I like about DK, but I'm not entirely sure he'd bring anything to the table in terms of voteability. Would Obama gain electoral points by adding someone who ABC excluded from the debate? In that case, Obama might as well pick someone outside of the major runners for the presidency... maybe Al Franken?

i think it's a done deal with edwards and obama. from their recent behavior at the debates (edwards grouping himself with obama, the incessant nudging and complimenting) it's like they just got engaged. weird to watch.

The thing is that he's said all along that it's all-or-nothing. I think it's because his wife is ill. The morning after the Iowa caucus, I heard him on MPR saying that he won't run as VP. It's possible he's just saying that.

I didn't see the debates, though, so I have no idea of how engaged they appear.
